Last Summer, Sherniqua and Ashton reached out to me regarding the wedding they are planning to have at the Guild Inn Estates in Scarborough, Ontario. As with all couples who inquire about wedding services, I virtually introduced myself and asked if they would like to meet with me in person to talk some more. Everyone who knows me, knows that I am a people person, and I always prefer to meet my couples in the very beginning – it helps me to learn more about them and their wedding day plans, and also gives me an opportunity to properly introduce myself and discuss my approach in regards to documenting weddings. I believe it’s super important to select a photographer that you feel comfortable around, and one that you feel you can build a relationship with – after all, this person will be with you throughout your whole wedding day!
When we met, we got to discussing more about what they wanted in a photographer; aside from not really knowing what to look for, they of course wanted someone who is amiable, easy to work with, and someone who is able to get those candid and special moments to remember their special day. They pointed out that they were not necessarily “camera” people, and felt a little nervous to be in front of the lens. This might have worried some photographers, but to me, I don’t mind hearing this because I am always ready for the challenge!
Needless to say, we hit it off during out little meet & greet and they selected Jesseka Melanie Photography as their engagement and wedding photographer! Fast forward to after the new year, we scheduled their winter engagement session to be indoors at Mint Room Studios in Toronto, Ontario. What a fun hour we spent together during this session! As nervous as they said they were, they took all my advice that I gave them during our planning process, and absolutely ROCKED this session. What I love most, is that they took all of my prompts and reacted in a way that was true to them – THAT’S where the real magic happened. And in result, the beautiful photos below were produced! I love this session so, so, so much because it radiates the true essence of their relationship. I am so excited to photograph their wedding and document more of their love!
