Sarah & Brad are expecting their first baby this Spring and I am so happy to document yet another important family moment for them! A common question I receive is “when should I schedule my maternity photography session for?” and while I typically recommend around 35 weeks (when your baby bump might be more visible), I also recommend that you should book it for when you feel you’ll be most comfortable. Every pregnancy is different, and so I emphasize that you should listen to how you and your partner are feeling, and how you project you both will feel closer to your due date (yes, partners matter too!). You both want to feel as rested and comfortable as possible during your maternity photography session.
This was the case with Sarah – she listened to her body and preferred to photograph around 30 weeks, and I’m so happy she did! We had originally planned to walk through a local trail for their photos, but as casual as all three of us are, we improv’ed and ended up doing a lovely home session.
Before stepping out into their yard for outdoor photos, I noticed a large wall art piece that read “Relax nothing is under control” and I had to stop everything to photograph it. It’s pretty fitting, in my opinion, as they enter this milestone of parenthood!
